ScanPro – Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the ScanPro app ("the app", "we") handles and why. In short: your documents stay on your phone. We do not run any servers that receive your files, and the app has no user accounts.

1. Your documents and files

• Documents you scan, PDFs you create, merge, compress, lock or sign, and text you extract are processed on your device and saved in the app's private storage on your phone.
• We never upload, read or store your documents on our own servers.
• Files leave your phone only when you choose to share them (for example to WhatsApp or email) using Android's share menu.
• Passwords you set with "Lock PDF" are used only to encrypt that file on your device. We do not store or see them.

2. Permissions

• Camera – to scan documents, ID cards and QR codes/barcodes. Images are processed on the device.
• Photos / files – only the images or PDFs you pick yourself are opened (for "Image to PDF", "Extract Text", "Scan from gallery" or importing a PDF).
• Internet – to show advertisements, to download Google's scanning components, and to load the app's font.

3. Scanning and text recognition (Google ML Kit)

Document scanning, QR/barcode reading and text recognition use Google ML Kit and Google Play services, which run on your device. Google may collect limited, non-personal usage and diagnostic information about these features to keep them working and improve them. See Google ML Kit Terms.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:

• your device's advertising ID,
• device and app information (such as model, operating system, app version),
• IP address and approximate location derived from it,
• ad interactions and crash/diagnostic data.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).

5. Data we collect ourselves

None. We do not collect your name, phone number, email, contacts or location, and we have no analytics of our own. QR scan history is stored only on your phone.

6. Deleting your data

You can delete any file inside the app (My Files → ⋮ → Delete) or clear QR history (QR → Clear). Uninstalling the app removes all of its files and settings from your phone.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Security

Your files are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Communication with Google's ad and scanning services is encrypted (HTTPS).

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
